Nice big ladies clothing swap last night at daun-daun's!!
no pictures from it...but there is this photo of coleco in a cake box that i lovvve. it speaks enough for the party i think.
daun made deviled eggs [the old fashioned smelly hor'doevre party food] to put on her new 50cent "mermaid shell ashtray egg plate". i made veganomicon's chocolate raspberry preserve cookies except i used blackberry preserves and they were full of good ol' white sugar.
then there were daun's famous biscuits, 1/2 filled with cubes of cheddar and the other half with gouda and apple.
big fur coat...1 piece blue jumper...white legwarmers with multicolored hearts....a dress..

Huge party weekend called Halloween/Samhain. baking & cooking friday night and carved pumpkins, a puker, a bug eyed-jack skellington-like and the pentacle. Lunch party at 2 pm.
hot red cider heating in the crockpot, huge salad with best homemade dressing [paprika, oil, salt, sugar, dry mustard powder, olive/veg oil and rice vinegar] from julia. 2 kinds of roasted pumpkin seeds and asiago kroger cheese bread from andy d and v. and biscuits (with 2 vegans) by v.
cooked up 2 large pots of gypsy soup (moosewood cookbook). sweet sugary pumpkin seeds by chris and butterfinger toll house that got turned into mini chocolate pudding butterfinger crusted whipped cream topped little fridge cakes. Also on the dessert side were chocolate-cinnamon cupcakes frosted with floofy floofy airy chocolate frosting, and we topped them with sugar crystal decorations. spun sugar.

Recipe for GYPSY SOUP:
3-4 tbsp oil of the olive. 2 c chopped onions. 2 cloves crushed garlic. 2 c chopped & peeled sweet potatoes. 1/2 c chopped celery. 1 c chopped tomatoes. 3/4 c chopped sweet peppers. 1-1/2 c cooked chickpeas. 3 c stock/water. 2 tsp paprika. 1 tsp turmeric. 1 tsp basil. 1 tsp salt. dash cinnamon. dash cayenne. 1 bay leaf. 1 tbsp tamari.
soup kettle: saute onions, garlic, celery, and s. pot. in oil 5 mins. add seasonings except tamari, and the stock/water. simmer covered 15 mins. add tomatoes, peppers, chickpeas, and tamari. simmer 10 mins or till veg are tendery dendery.

Recipe for RED CIDER. from martha.
1 orange. 32 oz. cranberry juice. 2-3 inch cinnamon sticks. 1-2 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced.
remove 2 3-inch long pieces of orange peel from orange, throw in a crockpot. juice the orange and strain seeds & pulp. to the crockpot, add orange juice, cranberry juice, cinnamon sticks and ginger peels. heat heat heat until steamy.
THEN on sunday it was andy d's bday, so i baked him a key lime pie. complete with meringue on top too. a bowl of sugar borrowed from the neighbors.

mermaid+faery+doll+pirate party ended up being doll+pirate party!
covered in tulle and eating real meat hamburgers (not i) we watched "the fearless vampire killers" NO BATH! NO BATH! (which i used that quote tonight at a dinner theatre game of whose line?)
onto the foodin's....i baked a chocolate vegan cake, covered it in the remainder of the pink frosting daunie made for my b-ton mermaid pirate taco cupcake party and then made a lattice design with thick caramel frosting! and sprinkee-sprinkles!
like a cherry pie! really good rich cake that we ate while playing a new card game, "golf". putting this pie cake recipe in my new cakewalk III zine!

the party was at daunie's house, her first "house show". starring ANDY D.
tacos & cupcake kabobs.
the night was spent gabbling amongst each other, eating tacos filled with tvp soy, watching turtle sex and ogling mickey's purple boobs.

Huge party yesterday! Mandy had her grad party from 2-6. I went at about 12:30 and brought along fudge brownies, peanut butter fudge, and teddy graham cupcakes! The boys played basketball, everyone ate nachos from the nacho bar, it was a drizzly day, so we couldn't swim! :(
I watched the indy 500 race dinner at 7. Here are a bunch of photos from the party!

we played some badminton and everyone dove into the frosting shots at the beginning. wow. what a party starter.
the team, "oon-gah-wa" (consisting of kodie, adri, and I) dominated in badminton. what a badass team.
then we all jumped on the trampoline and showed the boys how to do proper steamrollers.
we then were forced into the cake fight, and locked the boys outside. we changed our clothes and put on our war paint and did not dominate.
they had water. we had cake.
we planned to get them later with the red velvet cake that we hid, but we didn't.
we played hide-n-seek instead, with kodie on the shed roof! and taylor in the thicket. adree and i just wanted to dance!!! hehee... star star star.
we showed rashad how to play spoons and we played some penny game that johnathon taught us.
good party.
foods were- adri's turbans (the little 'sacks' filled with veggies & nutritonal yeast). raspberry & blueberry scones. oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. fruit mountain! old tyme pretzels. vanilla-cinnamon frosting shots. fudge-cocoa frosting shots. mini cadbury eggs! and mixed berry-ice cream popsicles (that didn't debut until later, and they wouldn't come out!)

i ended up making my scones today, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, mixed berry-ice cream pops, a red velvet dirty cake for the cake fight tomorrow....I think that's all.
Tomorrow I have to whip up my frosting shots (fudge-cocoa & cinnamon-vanilla frostings) and pipe them in shot glasses. I have to bake my other cake fight cake, a white vanilla cake.
Party starts at 5!

Just had my "Duchess" party. Mandy & Adree came over for it.

We watched the movie and then played some cards. I put in "Marie Antoinette" and we watched it too! I poufed Mandy's hair and stuck a tiny yellow bird in it. Us girls had such fun! My first ever madeleines (in the correct molds anyway) I had to run to adree's to bake them b/c the pan was too long to put in my toaster oven!

hosted by ma' sister daunie. we had pbj pitas, tofutti cream cheese & cucumber pitas, and hummus-cucumber pita. wine...lemon-lime meltaway cookies, tofutti cuties! ice cream sandwiches (in classic vanilla & chocolate)...and sesame snack sticks to keep you hydrated.
we also, that day, yesterday! toured the 4th street festival and went out to lunch at L.P....fun day...and had a clothing swap at the brunch party!
Daunie, Adree, Victoria, Mandi, Dory, Amy, Maggie, Al and me were in attendance! what a lovely afternoon!
