The round balls were made for Taylor, her 13th birthday. they are chocolate cake balls with my fudge cocoa frosting, a layer of caramel frosting, and rainbow sprinkees.
The white cake is a white cake for dad's birthday, happening today. he is 52 today.
The white cake recipe is from vegan cupcakes take over the world, and the frosting is a roux first, then sugar-butter mixture from the farm's cookbook.

i made her some homemade mostly-vegan cinnamon buns, Adree helped me by making the icing drizzle and rolling them up and cutting them for me.
Daunie loooooved them, they were very lavish & professional.
We went to the library and rented "Moonstruck" and drove to the local fish fry at the fire department so daun could get her a sammy.
we made souuup! with spinach, beans, chili powder, ground meatless, and macaroni noodles. it was garbage soup because it was aging cans of veg and flabby vegetables on their last legs. it turned out super tasty.
TyLea spent the night on Friday night! She made Mom some of her favorite "cheezy" crackers and we watched 21 that night.
Yesterday we celebrated Mum's birthday in Bloomington, we ate at Little Tibet with Chris and Daun. I got my good ol' sag sabji with tofu! We walked through campus, following the red brick road and went to a harp recital. It was absolutely beautiful. She played about 20 mins. then brought in 2 violinists, a cello player, and a viola. They started playing and I started crying! It was like going back into time and the orchestra was playing at a huge party and the women wore dresses and the men wore suits.
We then went back to Daunie's house and cut the cake.
She made Mom a beautiful little 6 inch vanilla/vanilla layer cake with orange marmalade in the middle. Delightful! Daunie's cake handy work is quite exceeding excellence.

went to the childrens museam with my best friends and sister and mum.
since this blog focuses on food, here is what we ate:
Bazbeaux Pizza! 2 large 16" pizzas, 1 of which Daun, adree and i shared and we ate the whole thing! (garden pizza with no cheese and extra saucey)
Mom tylea mandy and taylor shared a big ol' pepperoni pizza.

we came back here in the 5 degree weather and ate my birthday cake that daunie made!

the other night i baked up a pecan pie for mandys little birthday. she loves pecan! so i baked a 'fudge pecan pie' from la dolce vegan and took it over there last night. it was luscious and thick and so fudgey, get stuck in your teeth fudgey. she loved it! and she had a big pretty birthday cake! white cake with buttercream frosting. it was a fun night!
then I went over to adree's, she made dinner! we had Veganomicon's spaghetti with bean balls (like little faux meatballs made with kidney beans) it was delish-eeous. i got to eat out of my favorite john deere bowl. haaah.
